Grand Finale (Fall 2019)

The Fall In-School sessions of MyBigIdea! is just kicking off, but we’re fired up and ready for the students of the Upper Cumberland to bring their passion to the pitch competition.

The Regional Finale event is scheduled for Saturday, November 23rd in Cookeville at the Prescott South Middle School auditorium.  Registration/Check-in begins at 10am and the competition festivities kick off at that time.  Students will develop and refine their presentations from 10Am to Noon.  Then we will encourage them to practice, practice, practice until the judging round begins at 1PM.

Teams will be given 5 minutes to present. The judges will have up to three minutes for questions and answers (no questions or comments from the audience will be allowed).
Any student who participated in one of the in-school sessions is welcome to come present their BIG IDEA to our panel of judges.  We're busy pulling together our panel, and building a prize pool for the students to claim.

Lunch, drinks, and snacks will be provided throughout the day.

Students should dress comfortably - no business attire is expected (we're judging based on the idea and presentation).

Teams are encouraged to bring a laptop for them to work on their presentations.  We will not be providing computers.

We also cannot provide for transportation.  Students must make their own arrangements to get to and home from the competition.

The Student Event Consent Form is included in our resources page.  Each student will need to have a completed Consent Form, signed by Parent or Guardian, to enter the competition (NO EXCEPTIONS).

Family and Friends are invited to come see the final presentations.  The start time for the final judging-round will be determined by the number of teams that participate.  If we have a large turnout, we will likely do a preliminary round, and finalists will be chosen to present for the cash prizes. We expect the Final Round to begin at 2:30, but stay tuned as the day's agenda may change.

I hope the program has been as helpful and fun for all of you as it has been for us.  We are excited and overwhelmed by the response this Fall, and excited to have so many more students (and teachers) exposed to the great new tools out there to help folks turn their ideas into businesses.

This year, because of the large turnout, we ask your students to RSVP here if they plan to attend the Finale so we can plan accordingly for time, space and food.

Lastly, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
